Very predictable result when third ranked San Pietro (16-9) rolled over on the road 12th ranked Salerno (5-20) 75-40 on Saturday. The game without a history. San Pietro led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Quite impressive performance for Spanish point guard Ana Suarez (170-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Mariella Santucci (178-97) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Alessia De Mitri answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Giorgia Assentato added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Salerno. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Pietro maintains third place in A2 with 16-9 record having eleven points less than leader Broni. Loser Salerno keeps the twelfth position with 20 games lost. San Pietro will face Viareggio (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Salerno will play against Bologna and hope to win that game.
