Very expected game in Madrid where 12th ranked Olimpico 64 (6-18) was defeated by third ranked Rivas Promete (18-6) 61-55 on Saturday. Olimpico 64 was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Rivas Promete dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpico 64's 24. Rivas Promete forced 19 Olimpico 64 turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Regina Gomez (173-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who added 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Carlota Egusquiza (182-87) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Irene San Roman (177-92) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Olimpico 64's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rivas Promete moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Sant Adria. Newly promoted Olimpico 64 dropped to the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Rivas Promete will face Picken Claret (#9) in Valencia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olimpico 64 will play at home against UCAM Jairis and hope to win that game.
