Regular Season Round 51: Hamamatsu P. - Iwate Big Bulls 69-68

Sixth-ranked Iwate Big Bulls (25-20) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (31-14) in Mikawa on Saturday. Hamamatsu Phoenix managed to secure only one-point victory 69-68. However their fans expected easier game. Iwate Big Bulls trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 18-7 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-69 at the end of the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Tomoya Higashino used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Patrick Sanders (201-85, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and forward Alandise Harris (198-90, college: Arkansas) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Iwate Big Bulls at the other side keep the sixth position with 20 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix is again looking forward to face Iwate Big Bulls (#6) at home in the next round. Iwate Big Bulls will have a break next round.
