Regular Season Round 25: Roanne - Provence Basket 76-75

Important game to mention about took place in Roanne. Seventeenth ranked Chorale de Roanne (10-15) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Provence Basket (14-11) 76-75 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Provence Basket trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 28-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-76 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Provence Basket 42-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Provence Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Julien Lesieu (201-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (196-89, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Xavier Gaillou (192-89) responded with 14 points and 8 assists and American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle, agency: Stealth Sport) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chorale de Roanne moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Provence Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face higher ranked JA Vichy (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Provence Basket will play against Saint Chamond (#15) and hope to win that game.
