Regular Season Round 30: La Rochelle - Mulhouse 80-64

There was a minor upset when 14th ranked Mulhouse Basket (12-17) lost on the road to sixteenth ranked La Rochelle (13-17) 80-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by La Rochelle. Mulhouse Basket was better in fourth quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. La Rochelle made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American center Tyronne McNeal (211-87, college: Miami Dade CC) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Faycal Sahraoui (186-79) contributed with 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. McNeal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Guard Jeremy Bichard (187-90) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Jonathan Godin (185-82) added 12 points in the effort for Mulhouse Basket. La Rochelle moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Vitre. Mulhouse Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 17 games lost. La Rochelle will face higher ranked GET Vosges (#3) in Golbey in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mulhouse Basket will play on the road against UB Chartres (#9) and hope to win that game.
