Quite upsetting was Pioneros Los Mochis' home defeat in a game versus Caballeros de Culiacan who edged hosts 75-74. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Sampson Carter (203-90, college: Massachusetts) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Gregory Howard (193-89, college: Walsh) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Howard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Gordon Ball (203-90, college: Texas St.) produced 30 points and 7 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and Leon Gibson (206-91, college: Houston) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Caballeros de Culiacan and four Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
