Regular Season Round 30: SAP Vaucluse - Caen 100-86

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked SAP Vaucluse (16-14) beat 7th ranked Caen (16-14) in Sorgues 100-86 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by SAP Vaucluse. Caen was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SAP Vaucluse looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 assists. Guard Daye Kaba (191-86, college: Marist) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and American Bill Clark (200-88, college: Duquesne) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Caen. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SAP Vaucluse have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Caen. Caen lost third consecutive game. SAP Vaucluse will face Berck (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
