Regular Season Round 24: Badajoz - Araski AES 50-71

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Badajoz BF (7-17) was rolled over at home by third ranked Araski AES (19-5) 71-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Araski AES. Badajoz BF was better in fourth quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Araski AES forced 19 Badajoz BF turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Arrate Agirre (175-93) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and center Laura Pardo (186-89) who added 10 points during the contest. Four Araski AES players scored in double figures. Araski AES's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Hungarian center Viktoria Vincze (189-87) with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Sashana Bucknor (185, college: E.Michigan) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Araski AES have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with GDKO Bizkaia. Badajoz BF lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Araski AES will face Real Celta Vigo (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Badajoz BF will play against Cortegada in Vilagarcia Arousa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
