Regular Season Round 25: Civitanova - Viterbo 81-56

Everything could happen in Civitanova Marche at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Civitanova and 10th ranked Viterbo had identical 10-14 record. This time Civitanova used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Viterbo 81-56 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Civitanova led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Civitanova forced 30 Viterbo turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for guard Veronica Perini (175-88) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Czech forward Tereza Vorlova (186-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Five Civitanova players scored in double figures. Giulia Ciavarella (181-97) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Lorenza Spirito (178-90) added 13 points in the effort for Viterbo. Viterbo's coach Carlo Scaramuccia gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Civitanova (11-14) moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Viterbo dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Civitanova will face higher ranked Empoli (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Viterbo will play against Brindisi (#14) and hope to win that game.
