There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Battaglia (5-21) beat at home higher ranked Fiorentina (9-18) 69-63 on Sunday. Battaglia forced 28 Fiorentina turnovers. It was a great evening for Giulio Colamarino (189-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Luigi Brunetti (205-88) helped adding 20 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was naturalized Ivorian guard Mohamed Toure (190-92, agency: Players Group) with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Matteo Caroli (-95) scored 10 points. Battaglia moved-up to fifteenth place in B, which they share with Moncalieri. Fiorentina lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Battaglia will face higher ranked Pavia (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
