An interesting game was also a 17-point surprising road defeat of 4th ranked Bologna in a game in Ariano Irpino versus Irpino (#8) 63-46. The game without a history. Irpino led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Latvian center Ance Celmina (190-91, college: S.Mississippi) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Rosa Cupido (173-92) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds. Irpino's coach Iris Ferazzoli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Chiara Mini (165-86) came up with 11 points and 4 assists and guard Federica Nannucci (170-91) added 10 points respectively for Bologna in the defeat. Irpino maintains eighth place in A2 with 12-13 record. Newly promoted Bologna keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Irpino will meet higher ranked Palermo (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bologna will play against Salerno and hope to secure a win.
