Regular Season Round 27: Ortona - Pescara 72-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Ortona's (16-11) home loss to fifth ranked Pescara (19-8) 72-78 on Sunday. It was a great evening for guard Simone Pepe (185-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Center Andrea Capitanelli (208-86) helped adding 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was naturalized Argentinian point guard Victorio Gustavo Musso (185-84) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals and center Arcangelo Leo (203-81) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four Ortona players scored in double figures. Pescara maintains fifth place in B with 19-8 record. Newly promoted Ortona keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Pescara will face league's second-placed Falconara at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ortona will play against Valmontone (#12) and hope to win that game.
