The game between 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-42) and tenth ranked Oita Heat Devils (14-31) in Hiroshima on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Oita outscored Hiroshima L. 141-65. The game without a history. Oita Heat Devils led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 96 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 30. Oita Heat Devils forced 20 Hiroshima L. turnovers and outrebounded them 66-22 including a 23-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Oita Heat Devils looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. The winners were led by American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 31 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) supported him with 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Four Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. Oita Heat Devils' coach Umeda Tomoyuki felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points by Daichi Tomioka did not help to save the game for Hiroshima L.. Ayumu Osawa (-91) added 9 points for lost side. Oita Heat Devils have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 14-31 record. Hiroshima L. lost twenty ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 42 games lost. Oita Heat Devils will meet higher ranked Fukuoka Rizing (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hiroshima L. will play against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
