Regular Season Round 27: Bergamo - Pavia 72-46
Date: April 3, 2016
Very expected game when 11th ranked Pavia (9-18) was crushed on the road by third ranked Bergamo (21-6) 72-46 on Sunday. Bergamo outrebounded Pavia 39-27 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for naturalized Argentinian Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Jacopo Mercante (192-90) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Bergamo's coach Cesare Ciocca felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Maurizio Pavone (200-84) with 10 points and 6 rebounds and guard Michele Venturelli (188-82) scored 9 points. Bergamo maintains third place in B with 21-6 record having just three points less than leader Roma E-basket. Loser Pavia keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Bergamo will face Padova (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Pavia will play against Battaglia and hope to win that game.
