Regular Season Round 52: Hamamatsu P. - Iwate Big Bulls 56-72

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (26-20) won against 5th ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (31-15) in Mikawa 72-56 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Iwate Big Bulls. Hamamatsu Phoenix managed to win third quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Iwate Big Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Hamamatsu Phoenix's 24. The winners were led by Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and American forward Alandise Harris (198-90, college: Arkansas) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Five Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) did not help to save the game for Hamamatsu Phoenix. His fellow American import guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Iwate Big Bulls maintains sixth position with 26-20 record, which they share with Kanazawa Samuraiz. Hamamatsu Phoenix at the other side dropped to the third place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Akita NH. Iwate Big Bulls will meet Tokyo Cinq R. (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play against Takamatsu FA (#11) and hope to secure a win.
