Regular Season Round 27: Agrigento - Scafati 75-73

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Scafati (18-9) on the court of fifth ranked Agrigento on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Agrigento 75-73. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Agrigento outrebounded Scafati 42-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Scafati helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American swingman Kelvin Martin (195-89, college: Charleston So.) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Scott Eatherton (206-91, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) helped adding 12 points and 14 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Josh Mayo (181-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Patrick Baldassarre (200-86, agency: Players Group) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Agrigento and four Scafati players scored in double figures. Agrigento (17-10) moved-up to fourth place in A2. Scafati at the other side still keeps top position with nine games lost. Agrigento are looking forward to face Viola RC (#14) in Reggio Calabria in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Scafati will play at home against La Briosa BRC (#16) and is hoping to win this game.
