Second Stage Round 3: Al Riyadi - Hoops 83-78

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Al Riyadi (#1) and Hoops Club (#3). Al Riyadi (17-2) won against visiting Hoops Club (9-10) 83-78. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. Al Riyadi forced 20 Hoops Club turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. International point guard Wael Arakji (193-94) accounted for 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for Hoops Club in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
