Regular Season Round 4: Diamond VE - S.Peninsula S. 74-91

Date: April 8, 2016
There was a small surprise in Greensborough where top-ranked Sharks (3-0) won against much higher ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (3-2) 91-74 on Friday. Strangely Diamond Valley Eagles outrebounded Sharks 41-29 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Brittany Carter (183-93, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Kaitlyn Mileto (178-92, college: Wyoming) who added 26 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Sharks' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side guard Alexandra Sharp (184-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international guard Mikayla Pirini (169-96) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Sharks moved-up to third place in Leagues. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Sharks will face league's leader Hawks in Heathmont in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Diamond Valley Eagles will play on the road against Boomers in Bulleen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
