Second Stage Round 4: Sagesse - Al Riyadi 88-82

Leading Al Riyadi (17-3) recorded its third loss in Beirut. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Sagesse (7-13) 88-82. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Al Riyadi. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Al Riyadi won third quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sagesse won last quarter 29-24. They made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) who scored that evening 30 points and 4 assists and the other American import center Todd O'Brien (211-89, college: UAB) supported him with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds by American center Chris Daniels (212-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) did not help to save the game for Al Riyadi. The former international swingman Jean Abdel Nour (198-83) added 10 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Sagesse maintains fourth position with 7-13 record. Defending champion Al Riyadi still keeps top place with three games lost. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Hoops Club.
