The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Diamond Valley Eagles as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Diamond Valley Eagles smashed bottom-ranked Bulleen Boomers in Greensborough 88-61. Diamond Valley Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Bulleen Boomers' 32. Bulleen Boomers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Canadian guard Dejan Vasiljevic (187-97) nailed 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and guard Matt Reynolds (183) accounted for 13 points and 6 assists. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. David Schaffert came up with 19 points and 4 assists and American guard Daniel Kusnyer (193, college: Bloomsburg) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Bulleen Boomers in the defeat. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Bulleen Boomers at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Bulleen Boomers will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Diamond Valley Eagles will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Devils at Werribee.
