Regular Season Round 5: Eltham W. - Ringwood H. 69-77

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Ringwood Hawks (3-2) beat on the road bottom-ranked Eltham Wildcats (0-4) 77-69 on Friday. Power forward Shaun Clarke (204) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American guard Nathan Champion (190, college: Le Moyne) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Ringwood Hawks players scored in double figures. Benjamin Waldren responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Jordan Canovan scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Eltham Wildcats' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ringwood Hawks moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Eltham Wildcats still closes the standings with four games lost. Ringwood Hawks will face higher ranked Stingrays (#3) in Geelong in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eltham Wildcats will play on the road against Knox Raiders (#4) in Wantirna South and look forward to get finally their first victory.
