Very predictable result when fifth ranked Poitiers (15-11) beat at home 14th ranked Denain Voltaire (10-16) 76-71 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 28-6 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Poitiers dominated on the defensive end, holding Denain Voltaire to just 6 points in third and fourth quarters. The best player for the winners was American-Dominican Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Benoit Gillet (190-86) produced 20 points and 6 assists and swingman Vafessa Fofana (198-92) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests.
