Regular Season Round 29: Oviedo - Burgos 80-76

The game between third ranked Burgos (17-12) and fourth ranked Oviedo CB (17-12) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Burgos was defeated by Oviedo CB in a tough game in Oviedo 76-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Burgos. Burgos was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Guard Andres Miso (198-83) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and point guard Ferran Bassas (183-92) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Croatian power forward Filip Toncinic (212-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Austrian Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Oviedo CB moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Burgos. Oviedo CB is looking forward to face Castello (#11) in Castellon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Burgos will play at home against Caceres Basket (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
