Very expected game when Leuven Bears (3-10) were smashed by Kangoeroes (9-4) in Willebroek 84-63 on Friday. The game without a history. Kangoeroes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for American Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. American center Tony Wroblicky (208-92, college: American) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American center Gene Teague (206-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: HMS) answered with 10 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and forward Thomas De Thaey (203-91, college: N.Carolina St.) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Leuven Bears. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leuven Bears' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kangoeroes will face Basic-Fit Brussels (#9) on the road in the next round. Leuven Bears will play against VOO Verviers-Pepinster and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
