Regular Season Round 31: Chartres - Mulhouse 79-73
Date: April 9, 2016
Very expected game when 14th ranked Mulhouse Basket (13-18) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked UB Chartres (17-15) 79-73 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mulhouse Basket won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when UB Chartres won last quarter 19-15. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville, agency: Comsport) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 9 assists. Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (204-84, college: Northeastern, agency: Inception Sports) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side swingman Parfait Njiba (198-89, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Durell Vinson (201-85, college: Wagner) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Mulhouse Basket players scored in double figures. UB Chartres have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Loser Mulhouse Basket dropped to the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. UB Chartres will face La Rochelle (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mulhouse Basket will play against the league's second-placed Saint Vallier having rather not much hope for a victory.
