No shocking result in a game in Orchies where fourth ranked Le Portel (16-10) defeated bottom-ranked Orchesien BC (7-19) 66-59 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Orchesien BC won fourth quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Orchesien BC 42-24 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Sean Mosley (192-89, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Jessie Begarin (191-88, agency: Court Side) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. American swingman Jared Newson (205-84, college: Tenn-Martin) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import Chris Daniels (200-82, college: Georgia) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. Le Portel have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Evreux and Bourg. Loser Orchesien BC stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Le Portel will face Lille Metropole (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Orchesien BC will play against SO Maritime Boulogne (#8) in Boulogne-sur-Mer and hope to win that game.
