Regular Season Round 4: Bankstown B. - Sydney C. 39-85

Date: April 9, 2016
There was a surprise result in Condell Park where tenth ranked Comets (1-1) outleveled bottom-ranked Bruins (0-1) 85-39 on Saturday. The game without a history. Comets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bruins to just 7 points in third quarter. Comets held Bruins to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Comets forced 29 Bruins turnovers and outrebounded them 62-40 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Sarah Davidson (185-84, college: ORU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Bree Delaney who added 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Comets players scored in double figures. Comets' coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Kelly Wells responded with 5 points and 10 rebounds and Sabrina Zenatti scored 7 points. Comets left bottom position moving up to fifth place in League. Loser Bruins still closes the standings with one game lost. Comets will face higher ranked Sharks (#4) in Sutherland in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bruins will play on the road against Hunters (#3) in Newcastle and hope to get finally their first victory.
