Regular Season Round 53: Kyoto Hannar. - Kanazawa Samuraiz 80-75

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz (26-21) was defeated on the road by third ranked Kyoto Hannar. (36-11) 80-75 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-75. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and point guard Kouki Yamabuchi (183-84) chipped in 15 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and American forward Marshall Brown (200-85, college: Missouri) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Kyoto Hannar. and five Kanazawa Samuraiz players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Kyoto Hannar.. They moved-up to second place. Loser Kanazawa Samuraiz keeps the seventh position with 21 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face again Kanazawa Samuraiz (#7) in Ishikawa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
