Regular Season Round 25: Leganes - Sant Adria 73-72

The most exciting game of round 25 in the LF2 took place in Leganes. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Sant Adria (18-7) to fourth ranked Leganes (17-8) 73-72 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sant Adria. Leganes forced 19 Sant Adria turnovers. Strangely Sant Adria outrebounded Leganes 42-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. 30 personal fouls committed by Sant Adria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Celia Menendez (186-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Alba Maria Garcia (175-90) chipped in 18 points. Center Olga Ruano (191-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Marta Claret (185-92) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sant Adria's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Leganes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place in Group B with 17-8 record. Sant Adria at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Leganes are looking forward to face IF Air Europa (#7) in S'Arenal in the next round. Sant Adria will play at home against the league's leader Alcobendas (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
