Regular Season Round 53: Aomori Watts - Fukushima 102-93

An interesting game took place in Aomori where higher ranked Fukushima (28-19) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Aomori Watts (21-26) 102-93 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 42-28 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Aomori Watts especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona) chipped in 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. American swingman Le'Bryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Aomori Watts moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Gunma. Fukushima lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 19 games lost. Aomori Watts will face again higher ranked Fukushima (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
