Regular Season Round 27: Polpharma - MKS DG 78-65

There was a small surprise in Starogard where thirteenth ranked Polpharma (10-18) won against 11th ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (12-17) 78-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Polpharma. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza was better in fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Polpharma forced 22 MKS Dabrowa Gornicza turnovers. Strangely MKS Dabrowa Gornicza outrebounded Polpharma 45-32 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American point guard Johnny Dee (183-92, college: San Diego) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) helped adding 12 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. The best for the losing side was American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (180-84, college: BYU, agency: Octagon Europe) with 16 points and Croatian guard Dominik Mavra (195-94) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Polpharma have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain thirteenth place with 10-18 record. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Polpharma will face higher ranked Asseco (#8) in Gdynia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
