Very significant was Vasco Da G.'s (#3, 4-4) victory against 4th ranked Sport R. (1-7) 79-62. It looked good early as Sport R. took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vasco Da G. took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 17 points. Argentinian point guard Damian Palacios (177-85) notched 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international power forward William Drudi (206-81) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Vasco Da G. players scored in double figures. Even 10 points and 6 rebounds by guard Luis Fernando Lima (193-93) did not help to save the game for Sport R.. Point guard Michel Santos (195-96) added 5 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vasco Da G. (4-4) moved-up to second place. Sport R. lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
