Second Stage Round 5: Tadamon - Louaize 81-63

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Zouk: Tadamon (#2) and Louaize (#4). Tadamon (13-8) crushed visiting Louaize (4-17) by 18 points 81-63. It looked good early as Louaize took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tadamon had a 29-12 second period charge getting the lead and Louaize was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-81. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Louaize to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Tadamon made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Louaize 40-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Serbian swingman Branko Cvetkovic (200-84) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Tadamon players scored in double figures. American guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) answered with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Alex Okafor (202-87, college: Princeton) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Louaize. Tadamon maintains second place with 13-8 record behind leader Al Riyadi. Louaize lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 17 games lost. Tadamon will play against league's leader Homenetmen in Beirut in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Louaize will play at home against Byblos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
