An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Beirut. First ranked Homenetmen faced 3rd placed Byblos. Host Homenetmen (14-7) smashed guests from Byblos (11-10) 98-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Byblos. The game without a history. Homenetmen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Justin Tubbs (190-87, college: E.Tenn.St., agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 19 points and 9 assists. Four Homenetmen players scored in double figures. American Andre Smith (204-85, college: N.Dakota St., agency: Pensack Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and American-Ukrainian guard Steven Burtt (189-84, college: Iona) added 19 points respectively for Byblos in the defeat. Homenetmen maintains first place with 14-7 record. Byblos at the other side keep the third position with ten games lost. Homenetmen's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Tadamon in Zouk and it will be for sure the game of the week. Byblos will play on the road against Louaize in Zouk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
