Very expected game when 12th ranked Arkadikos (8-18) lost on the road to fourth ranked AEK Athens (18-8) 87-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by AEK Athens. Arkadikos managed to win third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AEK Athens looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington) notched 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Georgian point guard Taurean Green (183-85, college: Florida) supported him with 11 points and 5 assists. Four AEK Athens players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by the former international center Vasileios Kavvadas (204-91) did not help to save the game for Arkadikos. American guard Cameron Jones (193-89, college: N.Arizona) added 15 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK Athens maintains fourth position with 18-8 record. Newly promoted Arkadikos keeps the twelfth place with 18 games lost.
