Regular Season Round 28: ASVEL - Paris-Levallois 72-63

Very expected game when 14th ranked Paris-Levallois (11-17) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (18-10) 72-63 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Paris-Levallois won third quarter 14-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian center David Andersen (213-80) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists and international Charles Kahudi (199-86, agency: Beo Basket) who added 10 points during the contest. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's coach J.D. Jackson used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American point guard Chris Jones (178-91, college: Louisville) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Jason Rich (191-86) scored 12 points and 9 assists. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Paris-Levallois keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will face league's leader Monaco at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Paris-Levallois will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque (#4) and hope to win that game.
