Regular Season Round 31: Berck - SAP Vaucluse 94-74

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Berck (12-19) smashed at home higher ranked SAP Vaucluse (16-15) 94-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Berck. SAP Vaucluse was better in second period 29-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Berck shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by SAP Vaucluse's players. It was a great evening for guard Simon Cretaux (190-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points. American-Jamaican forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) helped adding 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Berck players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mali power forward Cheick Soumaoro (204-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) scored 28 points. SAP Vaucluse's coach Stephane Dao rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Berck maintains seventeenth place with 12-19 record. Loser SAP Vaucluse dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. Berck will face higher ranked JSA Bordeaux (#14) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
