Regular Season Round 5: Sutherland S. - Hornsby S. 70-75

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Spiders (2-3) beat on the road 6th ranked Sutherland Sharks (2-3) 75-70 on Saturday. They outrebounded Sutherland Sharks 46-35 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kulvir Grewal stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Joshua Chapman chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Four Spiders players scored in double figures. Isaac Turner responded with 40 points (!!!) and 5 steals and forward Craig Moller (203-94) scored 6 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Spiders moved-up to sixth place in League. Spiders will face Hawks (#10) in the next round. Sutherland Sharks will play against Sydney City Comets in Alexandria and hope to win that game.
