Very important is a home loss of second ranked Frayles de Guasave (11-5) against seventh ranked Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (7-7) on Saturday night. Host Frayles de Guasave was defeated by Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon in Guasave 94-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Frayles de Guasave. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Frayles de Guasave's 46. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Landon Atterberry (198, college: LIU Brooklyn) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 16-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners and Damon Smith (200-88, college: Mary) chipped in 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Guard Jordan Williams (198, college: N.Texas) responded with 30 points and 6 rebounds and guard DK Eldridge (188, college: N.Mexico St.) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Frayles de Guasave's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon moved-up to sixth place. Frayles de Guasave at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Hermosillo. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon will play against Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#7) at home in the next round. Frayles de Guasave will have a break next round.
