Second Stage Round 10: Residence - Contern 78-93

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Residence (13-15) in Bereldange on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Contern (9-19) 93-78. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in League. The game was mostly controlled by Contern. Residence managed to win second period 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Contern forced 19 Residence turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kenny Williams (201-86, college: Angelo St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The other American import guard Ravern Johnson (200-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: HMS) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. British-Nigerian Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Kevin Moura (182-94) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Residence. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Contern moved-up to second place in League. Residence at the other side still keeps top position with 15 games lost. Contern are looking forward to face league's second-placed Arantia in Larochette in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Residence will play on the road against Grengewald in Niederanven and is hoping to win this game.
