Regular Season Round 23: Nice - Hainaut 77-70

Very expected game when 9th ranked Hainaut (8-14) lost on the road to fifth ranked Nice (17-7) 77-70. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Nice outrebounded Hainaut 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85, agency: Comsport) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Nice players scored in double figures. Nice's coach Rachid Meziane allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international swingman Claire Stievenard (184-93, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Joyce Cousseins-Smith (165-88) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Nice maintains fifth place with 17-7 record. Hainaut lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost.
