Second Stage Round 3: Mons-Hainaut - Verviers-Pep. 79-51
Date: April 9, 2016
No shocking result in a game when Belfius Mons-Hainaut (8-7) crushed VOO Verviers-Pepinster (5-10) in Jemappes 79-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Belfius Mons-Hainaut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Belfius Mons-Hainaut forced 19 VOO Verviers-Pepinster turnovers. It was a good game for American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Swingman Idris Lasisi (188, college: Whitworth) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Australian swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian center Leigh Enobakhare (206-86, agency: Court Side) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for VOO Verviers-Pepinster. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will face Liege Basket (#7) in Liege in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. VOO Verviers-Pepinster will play at home against Leuven Bears and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
