The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Spectres' (3-1) home victory over their biggest opponent Brisbane Spartans (1-2) 105-83 on Sunday. Spectres dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Brisbane Spartans' 44. They outrebounded Brisbane Spartans 42-30 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Spectres especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Amy Kame (183-92, college: San Diego) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) who added 22 points (made all of her seven free throws) during the contest. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side swingman Stephanie Bairstow (188-94, college: Utah St.) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Spectres and four Brisbane Spartans players scored in double figures. Spectres maintains first position in League with 3-1 record. Loser Brisbane Spartans dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Spectres will face Lady Cobras (#4) in Kilsyth in the next round. Brisbane Spartans will play at home against Nationals and hope to win that game.
