Regular Season Round 54: Okinawa GK - Hiroshima L. 112-61

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Okinawa GK (38-10) outleveled at home 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-44) 112-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. Okinawa GK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 26. Okinawa GK forced 19 Hiroshima L. turnovers and outrebounded them 52-30 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Okinawa GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Naoto Kosuge (187-82) chipped in 23 points and 4 steals. Okinawa GK's coach Tsutomu Isa felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Shizuka Koshiba (187-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Tetsuya Maemura added 12 points respectively. Okinawa GK have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 38-10 record. Hiroshima L. lost 31th consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 44 games lost. Okinawa GK will face Hamamatsu Phoenix (#4) in Mikawa in the next round.
