Regular Season Round 27: Wilki Morskie - Asseco 100-106

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Szczecin where 7th ranked Wilki Morskie (17-13) was defeated by eighth ranked Asseco (15-13) 106-100 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 58-48 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Asseco shot 61.8 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Wilki Morskie was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 5 assists. Swingman Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (196-95) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) with 21 points and 4 assists and the former international Lukasz Majewski (199-82) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Five Asseco and four Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. Wilki Morskie's coach Marek Lukomski rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Asseco maintains eighth place with 15-13 record. Wilki Morskie at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Asseco will face Polpharma (#13) in Starogard in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
