Very expected game in Hawthorn where 7th ranked Magic (1-3) was crushed by leader Diamond Valley Eagles (5-0) 97-64 on Sunday. Diamond Valley Eagles outrebounded Magic 38-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Ryen Vilmont (196-92, college: Franklin Pierce, agency: Two Points) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Canadian guard Dejan Vasiljevic (187-97) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Jarrod O'Shannessy responded with 14 points and Jack Barry scored 9 points and 6 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Diamond Valley Eagles keep a position of League leader. Loser Magic dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles will face Devils (#8) in Werribee in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Magic will play at home against Hume City Broncos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
