Regular Season Round 27: Ironi Nahariya - Ironi Nes-Ziona 70-80

Bottom-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against fifth-ranked Ironi Nahariya 80-70. The game was mostly controlled by Ironi Nes-Ziona. Ironi Nahariya was better in fourth quarter 28-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Ironi Nahariya 42-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Sundiata Gaines (185-86, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. International point guard Yuval Naimy (188-85) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Ironi Nes-Ziona players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Gilbert Brown (198-87, college: Pittsburgh) with 23 points and 5 assists and the other American import swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Ironi Nahariya's coach Eric Elfasi rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ironi Nes-Ziona maintains twelfth place with 9-18 record. Ironi Nahariya at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Bnei Hertzeliyya and Hapoel Eilat. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against higher ranked Maccabi K/G (#10) in Kiryat Gat in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nahariya will play on the road against the league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
