Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Viareggio (11-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked San Pietro (17-9) 66-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by San Pietro. Viareggio was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Viareggio to just 7 points in second quarter. Point guard Mariella Santucci (178-97) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Spanish point guard Ana Suarez (170-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest.
