Second Stage Round 16: Lobas - Helsingborg 80-78

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Basketettan took place in Lomma. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Helsingborg (13-10) to seventh ranked Lobas (10-13) 80-78 on Sunday evening. Helsingborg cut a 14-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Lobas dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Helsingborg's 24. They outrebounded Helsingborg 39-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. Guard Ted Cedermarker (182-79) fired 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Jesper Wennerholm (188-96) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Lobas players scored in double figures. Erik Persson produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Erik Joelsson (198-97) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Lobas maintains seventh position with 10-13 record. Helsingborg at the other side keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Lobas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Helsingborg will play on the road against Boras II (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
