Regular Season Round 5: N.Adelaide R. - Southern T. 48-92

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated North Adelaide Rockets (3-1) in Greenacres on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (4-0) 92-48. It was a key game for the top position in League. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by North Adelaide Rockets' players. The best player for the winners was swingman Mitch Creek (195-92) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Alexander Starling (198-89, college: Beth.-Cookman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward John Wernham (200-88, college: Jamestown-Catt. CC) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Luke Pike (194-90) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers keep a position of League leader. Loser North Adelaide Rockets dropped to the second place with one game lost. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will meet at home Forestville Eagles (#5) in the next round. North Adelaide Rockets will play against Norwood Flames in Marden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
